About Karen
Karen Kettleβs positive energy, love of learning, and complete dedication to others made her an inspiring teacher, dynamic leadership advisor, and tireless event organizer throughout her decorated 31-year career with the Durham District School Board. She always discovered clever, vibrant avenues to add fun and pure creativity to whatever task she took on.
Beyond her vast impact on public education, Karen was anchored by deep love at home. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Greg Moon, her devoted sister Barb Kettle (George Barber), and an extensive, tight-knit network of family members and life-long friends who shared in her many colorful celebrations and projects.
Her vibrant impact lives on through the countless family gatherings she meticulously planned and decades of unforgettable student-designed leadership camps where she empowered youth to lead with confidence and joy.
